Description

It is a perennial officinal herbaceous plant of the Plantaginaceae family.

The plants vary in height from 20 to 50 cm. The roots are secondary (thin almost capillary and twisted) from a woody and enlarged rhizome. The leaves are all in a basal rosette with a spiral arrangement and are persistent throughout the year.

It was used in ancient times against inflammations such as hemorrhoids and respiratory diseases, or was given to anemic young people. Like all plantago it has strong healing qualities
