Description

Magnolia bark. commonly called houpu, is a traditional Chinese medicine made from a Chinese nativa tree Magnolia officinalis. It has been used to support the body and nurture wellbeing and to treat a plethora of ailments in China since 100 A.D. Magnolia Extract Honokiol is a small-molecule polyphenol isolated form the genus Magnolia. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its various potential applications.  Bark of Magnolia officinalis called Houpu has traditionally been used in Eastern medicine as analgesic and to treat anxiety and mood disorders. Japanese researchers have determined that “honokiol” and “magnolol”, two polyphenolic compounds in Magnolia Bark, process potent antioxidant activity. These two active compounds are thought to contribute to the primary anti-stress and cortisolbalancing effects of the plant.
