Description

Wakame (Undaria pinnatifida) is a marine algae native to the Japanese seas, very similar to Kombu, a term used to indicate the edible algae belonging to the genus Laminaria (Laminaria japonica) together with which it represents a fundamental food resource for the economy of nations of Southeast Asia. This brown alga is very florid in deep waters from 6 to 12 meters and populates mainly the rocky bottoms, where it can grow up to thirty centimeters. Wakame prefers temperatures between 5 and 18 ° C and, conversely, stop thriving when the water exceeds 25 ° C.
